Our success is measured through implementing a series of quality initiatives that track and monitors our patient’s care at every level – from pre-admission to discharge and through all phases of follow-up care. With a focus on inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation programs and services, our success centers around providing a higher level of therapy, innovative and advanced technologies and a specialized staff of physicians, nurses and therapists dedicated to the needs of every patient.

Patient Satisfaction

We utilize results obtained from direct patient feedback and from third-party assessments that strengthens our commitment to a higher level of compassion, communication, respect, and comfort. We also contract with Press Ganey, an independent provider of satisfaction services and utilize patient and family feedback to improve the care we provide and enhance the patient experience.

Among all rehabilitation hospitals in the country, we rank in the top 11% in overall quality of care provided to our patients.  Ninety-five percent (95%) of the respondents to our survey say they would recommend us to someone else for their rehab care.

Patient Outcomes

As a provider of rehabilitation services, our goal is to help individuals achieve maximum independence and return to their lives.  We incorporate evidence-based practice and clinical measures of success to gauge our effectiveness to achieving the patient’s goals. In addition to patient feedback, data collected on a regular basis show that the functional improvement of our patients exceeds both regional and national averages. Because of this, we discharge more patients back to their homes and their communities compared to regional and national averages. We measure patient outcomes by evaluating as many as 18 different areas including ambulation, eating and memory skills. Additionally, we have voluntarily invited The Joint Commission in for a rigorous on-site review of some of our rehabilitation programs. A Joint Commission expert evaluated us for compliance with standards of care specific to the needs of patients and families, including infection prevention and control, leadership and medication management.

Braintree Rehabilitation Hospital  has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for two (2)) of  its programs by demonstrating compliance with The Joint Commission’s national standards for health care quality and safety in disease-specific care.

The Joint Commission’s Disease-Specific Care Certification Program, launched in 2002, is designed to evaluate clinical programs across the continuum of care. Certification requirements address three core areas: compliance with consensus-based national standards; effective use of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines to manage and optimize care; and an organized approach to performance measurement and improvement activities.

Patient Safety

We partner with the Massachusetts Hospital Association (www.patientcarelink.org) in a leading quality/safety initiative that demonstrates our commitment to patient care and satisfaction. The program ensures patients have easy online access to timely information needed to make informed health care choices. This innovative program is an important tool in the continuous effort to make our hospitals and the care they provide among the best in the nation.

Patient Confidentiality

We respect patient privacy and the strict confidentiality of all medical information. To safeguard this commitment, we have in place rigid policies and procedures that determine legal and ethical access to personal and medical information related to every health care issue. Our policies and procedures are in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), which requires that we ensure continuous patient confidentiality and the security of patient information.
